About Us
Hillside Elementary has a proud tradition of serving the Lincoln Heights community that dates back to 1890, with our current campus continuing that legacy since 1936. As one of the area's longstanding neighborhood schools, Hillside honors its rich history while preparing every student for success through high-quality instruction, meaningful relationships, and a safe, inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
Our dedicated teachers, administrators, support staff, and families work together to ensure every student receives a high-quality education that nurtures academic excellence, character, creativity, and leadership. We are committed to developing well-rounded citizens who are critical thinkers, lifelong learners, and prepared for success in college, career, and life.
Our school is proud to have earned recognition as a California Gold Ribbon School and recipient of the Title I Academic Achievement Award, reflecting our unwavering commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. We are also honored to partner with GO East LA and the Leslie and William McMorrow USC Neighborhood Academic Initiative (NAI), providing students with opportunities that inspire college and career aspirations. Through this partnership, students receive guidance, enrichment, and academic support as they prepare for future success, and we celebrate the many Hillside Hawks who have been accepted into this prestigious program.
Every child who walks through our doors has the potential to soar. Together with our families and community partners, we are building a strong foundation for lifelong success while continuing a legacy of educational excellence that has served the Lincoln Heights community for more than a century.
Together We Soar!
